Video | @twmxpowell The life of a privateer isn't as glorious as a factory rider. Instead of collecting large paychecks and driving fancy cars, most privateers struggle to make it from week to week. If the two do share something in common, though, it's the love for the sport. For Barn Pros Racing Yamaha's Austin Politelli, life as a professional motocross racer has had its ups and downs. 2013 seemed the be a breakout year for the young rider, as he scored numerous top fives in Supercross and then later went on to win the Canadian MX2 championship for Monster Energy/Leading Edge/Kawasaki. However, his career started to slide as he was struck with injury after injury. Politelli is hopeful, though, that he can once again turn it around and put some top 10s before the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross season is over. Recently, Politelli opened his doors and let us shadow him for the better part of the day so we could see what the life of a privateer is truly like.
